While Black History Month may be celebrated in February, grocery shopping is something that most people do year-round. With the end of DEI looming, it’s time for Americans to put their money where their mouth is in the fight against systemic racism — and that starts with rethinking how we shop. While it’s easy to fall into a routine and buy the same brands, visit the same stores, and make the same meals, buying food, kitchenware, and other pantry essentials from Black-owned businesses is one way to support the Black community, regardless of the calendar year. Plus, these Black-owned products are high-quality, with delectable taste and careful craftsmanship that you can feel good about buying because they are good, not just because they’re Black-owned. Shopping Black-owned businesses is just one of the many ways you can support the Black community, today and every day, and here are 18 Black-owned food brands to get you started.
